WWII US Army Reproduction M1 Helmet Liner Leather Chin Strap with United Carr Hardware and QM Stamp

WWII US Army Reproduction M1 Helmet Liner Leather Chin Strap with United Carr Hardware and QM Stamp

WWII US Army Reproduction M1 Helmet Liner Leather Chin Strap with United Carr Hardware and QM Stamp

Complete reproduction US WWII M-1 helmet liner leather chin strap. The piece comes with leather strap with embossed lines, brass wedge buckle (cam-latch) and button loops. This version pictured above is patterned after the later variation of the M-1 helmet liner chinstrap that features hardware that has been coated with a black mildew inhibitor and was in use from 1944 -1945.

This reproduction of the US WWII M-1 helmet liner leather chin strap is absolutely the most authentic on the market, with each one made with United Carr marked hardware.  The cam-latch is correctly set with an open single-piece post and the end piece with the correct two-piece circular cap and post.  The leather strap is also made from durable 100% cowhide and not thin pigskin and comes with WWII era QM stamp upon the leather.

Most reproduction US WWII M1 helmet liner leather chinstraps made today are fraught with problems.  They are often made with generic two piece "speedy" rivets bought from craft stores, which are not only historically inaccurate, but can also disrupt the opening and closing of the cam-latch.  All the pieces in this item have been properly set with custom dies made for my setting machine, so you will not have to worry about improperly set and smashed hardware, something that often results from people making these with hand tools or vendors who have bought in bulk.
