This is a totally restored original US WWII M1 helmet shell that has been converted to represent the rare paratrooper model specially made for the 517th PRCT of the 82nd Airborne during WWII. This M1 helmet restoration has been conducted with painstaking detail. This particular helmet represents the standard model, which would have been used in combat operations such as the Operation Dragoon in Southern France.
