This is a totally restored original US M1 helmet liner with accessories that has been converted to represent the early Vietnam War M1C paratrooper model worn by the US Army airborne units during Vietnam. This M1C helmet conversion has been conducted with painstaking detail, such as the use of primarily original components and accessories.

This particular helmet represents the standard model, which would have been used in combat operations.

This restored and converted original M1C P55 helmet liner is complete for sale as shown and includes the following

  • US M1 P55 helmet liner (with no insignia hole and converted to airborne specifications)
  • Olive drab #7 duck cloth suspension (original)
    • Upper suspension (original cloth)
    • Lace cord (original)
    • Internal airborne chinstrap snaps
    • A washers and rivets
    • Westinghouse factory style A straps (original buckles)
    • Back strap (original)
    • Nape strap (original with QM stamp)
    • Sweatband / Headband with six clips (original with QM stamp)
    • Leather liner chinstrap (with maker’s mark stamp and set with United Carr marked hardware)
